Intimacy

Intimacy is a key concept in the photographic process that introduces issues like proximity, voyeurism and truth. Many photographers have tackled this notion, including Lartigue, Sophie Calle and Nan Goldin. This photo studio offers a space where visitors can, if they choose, reveal something of their inner self.

Proposed by the Information and Communication Unit of the City of Geneva and led by photographers Sandra Pointet and Julien Gregorio.

Faces of Geneva

In 2017, Genève, sa gueule is taking over the Rath Museum with nearly 1500 portraits of Genevans taken by Niels Ackermann and the photographic agency Lundi13. Initiated by the Agenda21 – Sustainable City programme in 2014, this project aims to make visible and acknowledge the diversity of Geneva’s inhabitants by organizing photo sessions and gathering life stories. The result is a far richer portrait of the Genevan population than the few clichés normally used to describe it.

Photo shoots are organized as part of the exhibition.
